Synet Simwinga is an environmental health professional with over six years of experience in community health, occupational health, and healthcare waste management. He currently serves as an environmental health officer for the Chikwawa District Council within the health sector. Synet’s work primarily focuses on ensuring that community members are actively engaged in all health services to prevent the spread of illnesses and outbreaks. He also emphasizes the importance of timely healthcare access for those who are sick. To promote workplace safety, he collaborates with employers and employee unions to protect health workers and other employees from various workplace hazards. Additionally, he coordinates healthcare waste management in the district, ensuring that waste generated in health facilities is safely managed and disposed of. Beyond his role in public health, Synet is an entrepreneur specializing in vector and vermin control. He operates SEENS Fumigation Services, located in Chikwawa. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). Synet has contributed to several healthcare policies and guidelines, including the National Community Health Strategy Framework and healthcare waste management protocols.
