Recognizing the importance of the Malawi Environmental Health Association to the Nation, Pump Aid Beyond Water Malawi has donated some funds to support association activities. This donation has been specifically directed towards publicity through website hosting and maintenance costs. As MEHA is in its early days of a new leadership era, Publicity has been deemed as one of the tools to ensure growth, visibility of the association and above all being the voice that MEHA is supposed to be.

MEHA president Dr Save Kumwenda appreciates the gesture and commend others to do likewise and support the association. He has also encouraged the Nation to support upcoming fundraising activities that the association will be hosting to raise funds for smooth running of the association. Not only that, but he is also calling other stakeholders to collaborate with MEHA and use it\’s media platforms for advertising and Publicity.

\”I would like to thank Pump Aid for it\’s good gesture. MEHA relied on support from its partners for it to function well. The support from Pump Aid will go a long way in supporting activities of Environmental Health in the country mainly through sharing of best practices\”Said Dr. Save Kumwenda, MEHA president.

Pump Aid, a registered charity whose mission is being committed to ending water poverty and aid dependency in Malawi for under-served and isolated populations found it necessary to collaborate with MEHA through the donation and other upcoming activities.

\”Pump Aid felt duty bound to support MEHA because this is the professional body that promotes Environmental Health issues in Malawi. It is a think-tank for Environmental Health professionals shaping environmental health activities in Malawi. As part of continuous professional development, our environmental health staff and many others across the country rely on MEHA and Pump Aid Beyond Water is happy to be a significant part of the process. Secondly, the bulk of Pump Aid Beyond Water’s work is in WASH and since WASH is one of the key priorities of MEHA, Pump Aid Beyond Water is interested to work with MEHA towards popularising some of the interventions that it is implementing across the Country’’- Simon Msukwa, Pump Aid.

MEHA leadership assures the Nation and its members that with this direction of wide collaboration with stakeholders and other strategies to be implemented, MEHA will contribute much to the health sector.
